The Annual Parkinson's Walk-A-Thon was held on Sunday, June 1st at Elmwood Park in the pavilion area. Approximately 400 walkers attended the event, setting a record number. Participants enjoyed the musical entertainment along with the dance demonstation by the Country Kickers prior to the walk. Children had fun with the face painting, balloons and bounce house. One young man had raised $1000 for an aunt who had Parkinson's.
Carol Wang from KMTV Action 3 News was the MC and announced the start of the walk. A lunch of hot dogs and chips awaited the walkers upon their return around the course. During the meal, Carol did a wonderful job giving out prizes for the raffle.
The Nebraska Chapter and information and Referral Center would like to express their gratitude to everyone who helped to "ease the burden" by walking to support such a worthwhile cause. We look forward to walking with you next year.
